12/06/2007: Stavros Platform Upgrade | |
Summary Verrotech main UK (Stavros) hosting will be upgraded on Friday 15th June 2007 and may be at risk until Monday 18th June. Article Between Friday 15th and Monday 18th of June 2007 we will be performing a major upgrade to our main UK (Stavros) hosting service. The upgrade will involve switching services to the newly commissioned StavMax platform which has been specifically developed to replace the existing platform the Stavros service is deployed on.
The new platform will allow for increased capacity and redundancy as well as future-proofing the service for at least five years.
Part of the upgrade will involve user data such as web content, email and databases being transferred between physical disk sets. As a result a certain period of “change freeze” and a minimum amount of service downtime will be required.
All Stavros services including access (FTP), mail and web will be suspended temporarily at approximately 17:00 BST on Friday 15th June to facilitate the data transfer.
Service should be restored between 20:00 and 23:00 BST on Friday 15th but all Stavros services will remain “at risk” during the assurance testing window which ends at 23:59 on Sunday 17th.
The Verrotech website and support facilities may also be affected during this period.
